There must be something in the water…

It seems like we are hearing about an injury sidelining yet another WWE/NXT star every other day.

So, as of today, who’s hurt and with what?

  • John Cena: Shoulder injury
  • Nikki Bella: Neck injury
  • Seth Rollins: Knee injury
  • AJ Styles: Chronic sciatic nerve issues in his back (missed almost a whole NJPW tour and some ROH shows shortly before debuting with WWE)
  • Tyson Kidd: Neck injury
  • Sting: Neck injury
  • Hideo Itami: Shoulder injury
  • Daniel Bryan: Neck issues, concussion issues, WWE being a little bitch issues
  • Sheamus: Tendonitis
  • Naomi: Undisclosed health issues
  • Rusev: Rumored knee injury
  • King Barrett: Nerve issues in his neck
  • Alberto Del Rio: Lower back issues
  • Randy Orton: Shoulder injury
  • Sin Cara: Shoulder injury
  • Dean Ambrose: Rumored shoulder/arm issues

Yeah, this is sad and depressing. Especially when you look at the fact that Sami Zayn (who has admitted he’s not at 100% yet), Sasha Banks, Nattie, Paige, & Lana have just recently returned from injuries.

Some of these men and women are trying to work through the issues, but some are on the shelf indefinitely.

What is causing these injuries?  Well, the shoulder injuries can be attributed (for the most part) to the massive amounts of weights some of these guys lift and the type of training they do. The neck, back, arm, and knee injuries? Wear and tear, wrestling style, and freak accidents.

WWE needs to take a look at what is going on and act accordingly before even more men and women wind up on the shelf from trying to work through injuries.

The talent needs to come first, and if that means cutting back on shows and touring for a bit, so be it. Fans have what seems to be 872 hours of WWE television weekly to get us through.
